I know it may come as a huge surprise to many of you, but I’m not terribly athletic. When I was in gym class in
elementary school, I remember dreading the day we had to run the mile. I would make it to the finish line and collapse on the ground, my lungs on fire, barely able to breathe.

Sometimes life feels the same way, doesn’t it? It seems as though everything you do isn’t good enough, and the “to-do” list is longer than the hours you have to do it in. Life can be overwhelming, at times. Sometimes we may even want to give up. In the book of Isaiah, God has encouragement for those who are running on empty:
“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they
will walk and not be faint,” (Isaiah 40:30-31).
Today, may you trust the Lord to be your strength when your strength is exhausted, and may you run and not grow weary and walk and not be faint.
