Joe Schmidt – Senior Minister
Our senior minister is Joe Schmidt. After marrying his high school sweetheart in 1979 he joined the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in September 2000 and immediately entered Bible College. He graduated from Bible College in May 2004 and joined our staff at First Christian in July 2011.
Joe and his wife Nancy have three grown children and three grandchildren.
Kevin Lucas – Worship Minister
I grew up in a Suburb of Chicago in Northwest Indiana. I have a huge heart for missions and worship. I graduated from Lincoln Christian University in 2010. Kayla and I were married in June of 2009, even though she is a Cardinal fan (I am a Cubs, Bulls, Bears, Purdue fan!)!
Jared Strode – Children’s Ministry 
Jared is a 2003 graduate of Central Christian College of the Bible. He began attending FCC shortly after graduating and started volunteering with the Children’s Ministry. In 2007, he took over the Children’s Ministry part time. He loves teaching kids to love and follow God.
Youth Ministry – Bill Mitchell
My name is Bill Mitchell, I have been the Youth Minister of First Christian Church since January of 2009. I am married to the perfect woman, Kasey, and have been for almost six years. I have an adorable daughter, Tessa, who is almost three years old and I have another daughter, Olivia, born in May. I am blessed to be a part of FCC in Kewanee, and to be able to work alongside some great men of God in our staff and elders.
Secretary – Sylvia Giese
Sylvia Giese is a graduate of Kentucky Christian University and was a minister’s wife for almost 40 years in Hawaii, South Dakota and Illinois. She has served as secretary at First Christian Church in Kewanee for 18 years, and leads a women’s Bible study during the school year. Sylvia and husband, Brian, have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
